Full moons are my favorite time of the month. They are a time to set free what is no longer serving us to make room for what is meant to come into our lives for our highest good. They are our monthly version of personal Spring Cleaning if you will. I love to journal on the things I am setting free from my mind and my heart. It feels like a way to allow all of the weight to lift off of my shoulders and I love the release it can provide if there is something that is really weighing on me.
My usual ritual is just to journal, charge my crystals under the light of the full moon, and maybe set out some vessels of some Moon Water, but every now and then, I do a really powerful ritual of cord cutting. Now, this is a ritual I have only done a couple of times because I save it for really special situations as it is so powerful, but I want to share it with you.
Purpose of a Cord Cutting Ritual
This ritual is to be done if there is someone in your life that you want to cut out completely - someone you want to cut the cord with. This is usually done for romantic partners but can be done for other important relationships as well. Rituals are all about intention so it is important when performing this that you have the intention held strong in your mind and that you are firm in your belief that it will work.

Supplies for Full Moon Ritual
Red candle
Wooden match
Piece of yarn or cord at least five inches long
Candle snuffer or glass of water (something to put the candle out with... never blow out a candle when performing a ritual)
Ritual
Perform the ritual under the light of the full moon (outside in its direct light if possible).
Using the wooden end of the match, etch the name of the person with whom you want to cut the cord into the side of the red candle.
Say these words and do these actions:
Under the light of this full moon, I cut the cord with thee. One knot representing you (tie one knot in the string) And one knot representing me (tie one knot about 2-3 inches away) I light the flame (light the match, light the candle) And watch it burn Like our connection (burn the cord between the knots) Never to return
At the end of the ritual, you can snuff out the candle or put water on the flame. Never blow out a candle used in a ritual.
